The Caelum by LandgraveCustoms The Caelum by LandgraveCustoms
This, my friends, is for a very lucky client, but I must say, it's the Pistol I'd make for myself if I was going to carry a pistol in costume. I think the client is going to be thrilled- I certainly am. ^_^

Reminds me of the E-5 Battle Droid blaster.

That would be because the front cage was taken directly off of an E-5 battle droid blaster toy. Great eye! O.O

Yes it is, and no I'm not entirely sure why I put it there either. Just looked cool.

Weird that I just noticed that this one has my gaming handle as the name. I dig this piece a lot as it's Spectre, drawer pull handle, spare hammer, dry erase marker, and parts of what looks like another nerf gun combination? Is that right? I love it all and all, oh and I see a tube from maybe an old radio I think? Pretty. Keep up the wicked work chief!

Mmmmm, close... but not quite. It is a Spectre, and that is a Drawer Pull. There's no dry erase marker, nor caps, anywhere on the piece... pretty sure you mean the wire cap, though. There are also no other Nerf guns involved, though there are other toy guns... two of them, in fact. A Star Wars blaster toy and a cheap paintball gun handle. The tube isn't from a radio, but a car headlight lamp. Past that, I used parts off of a bunch of old toys and random stuff around the house. It all integrated rather nicely, I think. My works tend to be a lot more needlessly complicated than people realize. ;)

Isn't that's how the best projects are made though? Wicked non-the less!

Nerf Spectre. Not much left of it.

did you replace the entire front end of did you put the shazam on top of the original blaster?

On top. Meaning, it still works, though loading is a bit annoying. But, it's meant as a prop with no on-screen loading, so, less important.

I only have 1 critique. The flintlock plate, is actually vey soft material, so you could use a barrel sanding bit on a rotary tool to smooth out the stamped print before painting. Other than that, its awesome!

Probably not a bad idea. But, then again, it WAS made in the USA, so. ;p I kid, though, I probably should sand it out at some point if the customer cares for me to do so. He hasn't said anything about it, though, so.

Looks like it, though many companies used that design and that mold over a long span of time so it might have come from a different model of gun... they're both detached now so we'll never know.

Thanks! Like I said before- mostly a prop. And as a prop, it's workin' pretty well, methinks.

I did something similar with a gauge on a Maverick pistol for a customer. I epoxied a clear tube into the end of the gauge and into a ' port ' on the Pistol making it appear to be a attached and working gauge.
